Social Engagement for Blog Marketing

Just a few quick thoughts about social engagement for your blog since this is something that I have doing some studying on for my own obvious purposes :)

Link-building, or making the greatest number of links as you can to your website, is no longer necessarily the only thing that you need increase search engine rankings. Social network members bookmarking your website are a lot more important for your search engine results than bombarding your social bookmarking accounts with backlinks to your site. The major search engines surely also need to help to make certain that the service they offer is helpful. An additional factor is that most people use social networks to develop their opinion about your web site based on what people are saying about you. Consider a situation in which a stranger told you to call a company you had never heard about. Now imagine if your close friend suggested you to call that same company. That's the contrast between you marketing your own web site, and social media systems doing your marketing and advertising instead.

Ultimately, the most important advantage of social media is that it allows you to connect with present and would-be consumers. Consumers purchase from people who that they know, trust, and like. Social networking can help you establish these things prior to any customer decision about purchasing and so they are going to be much more probable to purchase from your business at some point.
